Shanghai, September 5 (Gasgoo.com) In August Shanghai VW was the top seller in China's passenger car market with 39,080 units sold, while FAW VW and Shanghai GM took the second and third places with sales of 34,730 units and 33,124 units respectively, data from auto.QQ.com show on Thursday.
Shanghai GM, the sales champion last month, was the only one that posted month-on-month drop among the top three players this month.
Except for Beijing Hyundai, almost all the other automakers saw a consecutive decline in sales from last month, as consumers delay car purchases during the Beijing Olympics Games in August.
Sales of the top ten players were 248,088 units, account for 60 percent of the overall market.
